Logical Models

The logical data models of the Dokument module describe the domain dataset independently of its concrete FHIR representation.

The officially adopted version of the information model is located on ART DECOR. To unify the representation, the information model was additionally mapped as a FHIR Logical Model:

The following dictionary lists every element of the logical model with its path and description.

4. mii-lm-dokument.extension
Definition

May be used to represent additional information that is not part of the basic definition of the element. To make the use of extensions safe and manageable, there is a strict set of governance applied to the definition and use of extensions. Though any implementer can define an extension, there is a set of requirements that SHALL be met as part of the definition of the extension.

Comments

There can be no stigma associated with the use of extensions by any application, project, or standard - regardless of the institution or jurisdiction that uses or defines the extensions. The use of extensions is what allows the FHIR specification to retain a core level of simplicity for everyone.

Note that the Logical Model targets solely the representation of the data elements and their descriptions. The data types and cardinalities used are not to be regarded as mandatory. These are ultimately defined by the FHIR profiles. For every element within the Logical Model there is a 1:1 mapping onto an element of a concrete FHIR resource.

            Mapping to the FHIR resource

The IG Publisher does not render this element-to-resource mapping on the Logical Model's artifact page (the "Mappings" tab stays empty there). The following table therefore lists it here.
