Capability Statements

The CapabilityStatements of the Microbiology module describe the expected server/client capabilities (supported resources and interactions).

To enable decentralised data analysis via the German Research Data Portal for Health of the Medical Informatics Initiative, the capabilities interaction MUST be supported, so that the FHIR server exposes a CapabilityStatement at [BASE_URL]/metadata. That CapabilityStatement MUST state which profiles - including version - and which search parameters are supported.

The contents that MUST be given in the CapabilityStatement are listed below. In addition, conformance to the following CapabilityStatement MUST be declared in the respective CapabilityStatement instance under CapabilityStatement.instantiates.

Capabilities by Resource/Profile

Summary

The summary table lists the resources that are part of this configuration, and for each resource it lists:

  • The relevant profiles (if any)
  • The interactions supported by each resource (Read, Search, Update, and Create, are always shown, while VRead, Patch, Delete, History on Instance, or History on Type are only present if at least one of the resources has support for them.
  • The required, recommended, and some optional search parameters (if any).
  • The linked resources enabled for _include
  • The other resources enabled for _revinclude
  • The operations on the resource (if any)
